have sold my Admiral to a Forum member from (Partner) detektorforum.de for my self build cost
it will be in use on heavy contamined Roman camp site in Germany
i hope to get feedback how it performs in real Action

while writing with the collegue i noticed some things than can be done better in future detector
- build in fm Transmitter (directly as second pcb in box)
- sealed headphone connector industrial Standard 6,35mm
- a smaller (16,5cm) and a bigger coil (maybe 36cm)   the small for trashy areas and the bigger for allmetal Militaria hunting
- etched scale ring and text when using alu box again

In the air it goes 35/40cm with coins but with geotech vdi  depth drop to 15/18cm (in the air!)
Coil is (at the moment) DD 27cm (10"), but i will go to CC25cm this days.If someone solve vdi calculator
from geotech it will be nice to see.http://

Thank You Xavier
but I will be satisfy with this project when make vdi funcional.
Actually, I made few metal-detectors  successfully (tgsl, clone pi-w, volksturm sm+,
chance pi ...) but admiral3 make me insane, its too unstable  and it will be a problem
for me to find out why. Maybe overflow the op.ams. with strong signals from RX, but i have
to measure values on them.
I apologize because of my bed english and hope You can understand me

hello cvele

admiral is very strong, seems that it has a dangerous amp stage
did you ever try a naked coil (unshielded), in real grouind my runs better with unshielded   - dont know why
the onboard trimmer is to adjust very carefully

i hope we can find correct connection points for vdi
one men from youtube did it and it works good

hi guys
on board trimmer is 100k, and TX osc trimmer is 200R (around 120R tuned for best amplitude in my  case).
No, I have not tried  coil with no shield because i was afraid that geb wont work. I intent to make cc
coil so i will try  it in real soil without shield.

PS
I forget to say that it is very important, for my admiral, producer of TL074 because
there are different amplification among them.
