what are you looking for, a buried tank?   And on land or in the water?  I'm not even sure one of those (especially not the little ones typically used in the Philippines during WWII) would show up on a metal detector at 40 feet.   Metal detectors are designed to find smaller targets closer to the surface.

Warm regards,

I have a good prospect for you. I'll tell you about it now. Pay close attention.

Once upon a time there was a lonely old engineer . . .

Thanks for the info guys. It seems that there is no such thing. So the metal detectors being advertised by many companies thru the internet really have no capability to detect claimed buried treasures especially here in the Philippines.

I've never seen a reputable manufacturer (or even a reputable distributor) of metal detectors make a claim that their metal detectors will detect anywhere near that depth.    Ground Penetrating Radar manufacturers can and do make such claims, but GPR units are not "metal detectors", even though both GPR units and metal detectors can be used to search for buried treasure.

Radar simply cannot penetrate to that depth no matter how powerful it is. Any claims to the contrary are nonsense.
