The DEUS is VERY fast on recovery, and probably the best there is on the market at the moment when you have to detect in amongst nails etc.
The magnet mounting of the control box isn?t so much the problem (Magnet is strong enough), but more the fact that the magnet mount is too low, and therefore your thumb (With our larger hands), tends to keep pushing the box off the magnet.

I am sorry X RJM but I have to contradict you, I have used a lot of I say a lot of metaldetector, and where we go the ground and very disturbed from: points of nails, lead bronze bits etc... etc.. etc... xp deus still until you/he/she has not now given me any satisfaction, am I still looking for what I am wrong, if you tell you me that it is all right, but in truth considering that we are a group and tried with friends and with different metaldetector,be doesn't go this and my opinion it doesn't go, do I hope to be wrong... you have ever tried an And-TRAC with disk from 15" of the coiltek? ago fear believe me... my metaldetectors still in use - Explorer - And-TRAC DEUS - GP3000 -. with gp 3000 a lot of satisfactions on gold and enough, ewplorer hehehe still the miglioren even if passed son a lot of primavere.grazies of your attention hi Cheesy

I don't understand your reply or the photographs.

There are many good machines but I like the Deus for it's very light weight and fast recovery between targets.

If you are pleased with your detectors then stick with them!

Thanks Pino  Wink

The 11 inch coil is now available for the DEUS, so that should be better for the depth, for those that need it  Wise Great

There was talk of producing a version with the conventional wire to coil design a few months back which should save the battery replacement problems and the extreme cost of the current coils.

Marxionu who was a number one XP fan was posting sometime back that he could not understand why people in Britain who had switched from Minelab to the Deus are now returning to Explorers. I see that he himself has now got an SE Pro !

Anyway there's going to be comparison test done on Salisbury plain in the new year so the fanatics on both sides can shoot it out (if the snow ever goes).

It's a metal detector whose only claim to fame is that it is unique in its wireless nature. Other than that, it's just another model. Search on Google for reviews and the only thing the reviewers rave about is that there are no wires.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

And the fact that it?s VERY LIGHT, and is extremely fast on recovery too. Depth on the standard 9" coil is also exccellent, though not up with the 11" coil of the competitors. The 11" optional coil should improve on that though !!  Wise

Since its UK itroduction May 2010 I have seen Central Searchers members change from 75% Minelab to 75 % XP Deus and all the Deus users are finding that they can detect faster without getting arm or back ache so they are covering a llot more ground, hence number of finds have increased. I only got my Deus in March this year, but I can honestly say its a dream to use and the depth is just as good as my Etrac. I really like my Etrac but the Deus is in a class of its own.  The wireless Technology is just an added bonus!
