I recently picked up a supposed autobiography of Guy Sajer, 'The Forgotten Soldier', about the experiences on an Alastian volunteer with the German army on the Eastern Front during WWII. I personally found it enthralling, but have now heard that some military historians are claiming that this 'war classic' is basically a work of fiction.
What do others thing? Fraud, fiction or truth?
