I would imagine those are the sames trees or do you think they are another generation from WW? Maybe a pine expert will weigh in.

I would imagine a lot of them are more recent that WWII.   Keep in mind that it has been 65 years since the war ended and these trees are actively and carefully farmed (you'll notice they're planted in straight rows) and harvested.   

The pyramid shaped objects in the bottom picture are often called "dragon teeth"....they were meant to be anti-tank defense---essentially funnelling enemy tanks into pre-established kill zones by blocking their avenue of travel.

trust me, when you're in those forests it's real easy to imagine that---especially when you come across an old foxhole or a small bunker, or the remains of an old shellhole.  Now, it is eerily beautiful---back then it must have been scary as h*ll, especially when the shooting started.   And some parts of that area saw fighting going back centuries.
