I've not build this detector but plan too. Converted to 25Khz for gold.  So bear with me.  I'm learning too.   Reading it seems most peoples issues with the build in the Coil and Nulling.  I have no clue what mods you did to the schematic.  You replaced the designed way to obtain -5  to the 7660 is that right ?   I need a drawing on how you did it.

Ok, First Question is Why did you deviate from the original Schematic and go with the 7660 ?  Many people have build the detector with no issues on the Negative Supply lines.

the 7660 is only rated for 200ma.  Is that Enough ?

Ok Here we Go !

1.    With coil attached Powered up and running Measure All Voltages At the Source  first then Measure Each IC leg or Section Requiring that Voltage.  By the Voltages listed below Document anything different then your  measurements from the source on the same voltages.   All Referenced to Ground.

+ 12Vdc
+ 8Vdc
- 5Vdc

Copy this post , Record your Measurement by each number I have posted on the Copy .   Use that make your post please.  We are keeping a Running Record of the trouble shooting.  Each following Post will contain everything we did so not having to look all over the Thread.

Ok home fire thank you very much.
concerning the 7660 Ic I used ,because last year I had an attenmt to build this project and I got the 2n2222 of the -5v converter very hot and I had a problem of beeping . beeep,beeep,peeep,...so I decided to change this block ,make new pcb and get -5v to solve the problem because I think beeping problem comes from this converter . now I have another probelm sound beeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee...p
all voltages you gave me are the same on Ics .
thank you very much by the way homefire.
you suggest me I rebuild the first pcb without changes ?
I will make it again and please guide me .
thank you very much

If your 2n2222 's  were getting hot you was drawing to much power some place.  They were doing the job.  Ok Yes This is the kind of things that can happen with you deviate from a known working Schematic.  Let see if we can make this one work.

Is this the Same Coil you used before ?

2nd Step:

All Voltages being within Exceptable Ranges, Let try to figure out if the tone is being generated by the TX signal or the Rx Signal Train or Coil.
With the following settings:
Descrim Switch in All Metal
Descrim Full Off or Counter Clockwise.
Gound Balance Centered.
Sensitivity All the way down or Counter Clockwise.

Energize the Detector with NO Target.
Is the Tone still present ?
If so is there ANY changes to the Tone ?  More or Less Amplitude ?
Waiting for these Test.

I'm sorry home fire to be too late.
well I follow your first instruction and I solve the problem I rebuild a new pcb with following the schematic and I get -5.57v is it correct .
and one more thing is there any documment that gives more details about nulling . because I tried to null it but it's very difficult .
thank you very much home fire .
