Go Up Go Down

It's been over 15 years since we closed up our excavation efforts and left the Peak.  My name is Alex Alonso,  I was the Director of Operations of the Victorio Peak Project.  We left the Peak on a down note,  kicked to the curb by a less than gracious host.  We spent 4 years on site chasing every lead the ONFP (Ova Noss Family Partnership) had.  This included first hand accounts from family members Letha, Dorothy, Marvin, Jerry, Wes, Jim and Terry.  All were active in the effort with the team.  It's sad to say that Jim and Terry Delonas are the only surviving family members. The injustice we felt resonated in all of us and we turned away from the Peak for these many years.  Over the past 6 years an independent researcher/writer,  John Clarence has taken upon himself the task of writing the most definitive work regarding VP that we have every seen. His research eventually led to the ONFP and there family archives.  After reviewing his research we felt this was going to be good!  Books like Victoria Peak by Phil Khoury, 100 Tons of Gold but Leon Chandler,  are only a glimmer of what has been unearthed.  And so,  I am very excited to announce three hardback books.  As an active member of the ONFP for 24 years I highly endorse this effort as this will certainly be the final and finished work of the story of Victorio Peak.  If you would like to receive an email invitation to the grand reopening of the victoriopeak.com website please visit http:www.victoriopeak.com and register your email information.  Attached are the covers to the three books.  Terry Delonas the general partner of the ONFP has decided that the time had come for VP archives to be displayed to all and has given John "jack" Clarence full access to archives to craft his books. You will read in book 1 complete accounts of camp notes, letters between Doc and crew and Ova "babe" Noss,  maps and many photos.  The release date is within a few weeks.  I will begin posting photos of Victorio Peak and the story shortly. Please check back from time to time.

I thought I might include some photos related to this project to Peak some interest.   I have posted these photos on treasurenet.com a couple days ago.  But prior to that all but one of these photos has never been published.  The color photo of the sword is the same that Ova is holding that Doc climbed out of the Peak with and handed it to Ova. There is a close up as well.  The spanish stirrup or "cruciform" stirrup was given to a worker for wages while at the Peak in the 40's.  Letha, Ova's daughter is photographed holding gold bars in the 70's during 60 Minutes filming with Dan Rather. The "T" star board is a photo of myself holding during our excavation in the collapsed area within the Peak.  And finally, the B/W photo of Ova sitting in front of their home near the Peak called the Rock Shack.  Note the door in the background,  it says Tom Starr. This was Doc's alias.

More to come...

cheers,
-alex

Howdy, Alex.   Seems you've been busy.  Hope you stick around long after the book is out.

I will be around.  It's an exciting time for me with this book coming out.  It's a chance to rekindle the project flames and always the hope of returning under different circumstances.  It is part of our American history and it will finally be told.  For some it will be surprising whats in the book,  for others it will be hard to believe.  We expect book one by the end of the year.  My understanding is they are indexing and beginning the process to create galley prints for final review, etc.  I have attached a picture of the Captain in charge of the theft. He left evidence of the theft on the walls of the Peak as he was leaving.

cheers,

-alex

Someone here in the Las Cruces area just sold a sword like the one in the picture to the antiques roadshow. If people only knew the history behind them. Guys wouldn't let me photo it or touch it.

What ever is in the book isnt a tenth of what has been found I would say. Thats why I dont dig, be darn if I do all the work and give it away. lol.

The question is, why is there still people watching?

In regard to the sword, do you know where it went ? was it made in Austria in 1857 for the Emperor Maxmilian's honor guard ??   If so, it is a mate to the one Doc Noss brought out of Victorio Peak-----and the proper name is NOT VictoriA, but VictoriO--for the Apache chief--I was part of the Noss Family team in the 90's-----and I have been exploring the Victorio Pk area since 1954----and I commissioned the book, and hired the writer of  "GOLD HOUSE" which is about to come out  ----volume two tells where the gold went and who took it ---and which president was involved----and it wasn't only LBJ !!    The army base KNEW the gold was gone even BEFORE the circus of 1977 !!  The base had fun putting on that "dog & pony show"--just like the one in the 90's !!    The army STOLE from the Noss Family TWICE !  First by taking the gold, and then by charging them $800,000 to look for it  !!                      you can call me Martian Monster
