Hello Nick

Thank you for your very interesting comments. I guess we are all dying to see the 1635 documents and find out a little more about the possible identity of the source of the treasure you have found.

Please let us know when the books due to be published.

Thanks Nick! Looking forward to reading the books. It's really all the interesting people involved in this mystery that have peaked my interest.

As yo may or may not know there have been several books that have been written concerning the Caballo Mountains and Vickie peak.  This book called the Gold House will put to rest a lot of the mystery with actual historical documents.

The book you mention sounds interesting, most treasure books don't do more than cover the old legends. Sounds like this book has the inside scoop.

You mention on your site that some of the bars are in a bank vault and in another that the treasure is still there awaiting legal issues. Were these excavated illegally and confiscated or were samples removed as proof? Hopefully your BLM troubles will be resolved soon.

At least your long wait may pay off for you Nick, as the price of gold has gone up tremendously   Grin

There were some bars that were taken out by Fred Droltre and they were place in Texas Commerce Bank in El Paso, TX  Those bars were seized by the BLM and sold.  I do have the assay of the bars that was sent to Los Alamos labs in 1974.  Willie took some bars out of this site as well.  He even had some of the bars that he took buried in his back yard at his house in San Diego before he died.

Nick
I am in contact with the person that has written the book.  My understanding is that it has gotten back from the attorneys and everything is a go.  It was through this person that I got to me Jerry Cheathams wife Karen.  Jerry was also a partner of Cptbill who is on this site as well.

Thanks for clearing that up. I had wondered why Willie didn't continue work at the site back in the day. Sounds like there is a better than good chance this is the source all the Victorio Peak legends sprung from. Fascinating discovery.

Here is a picture that was taken in 1995 at the Caballo Campgrounds by the river just below the Caballo Lake Dam.

This is in Longbottom canyon which of the areas that willie and Doc Noss were know to go a lot.

Seems I followed you over here Nick. Not intentionally though. I found this site doing a Google search and it looks like a cool place to hang out. Looking forward to updates about your search. Those of us who can't get out to look for buried treasure of this magnitude live through posts like yours.

NHBandit, glad you found your way here.  Why don't you go to the New User Introductions board and introduce yourself there.   Then you might want to check some of the other boards.    There are some interesting discussions going on.
