Hey guys, I'm new but I thought i start this off with a recent find at a local park. The wallet had a buffalo nickel -1937, Jefferson 1963, 3 wheat cents, 1925,28,42 and a 1937 silver quarter. So far this site is looking good. [ Clapp], looking for any one in the southwest MN district.

Looks a lot like the change purse my Grandpa used to carry in the mid-60's to keep his change from wearing holes in his pockets.  Given the age of the coins, I'd say your coin purse was probably lost in '63 or '64

Hey bbbello3, before we confuse our non-US members too much or get the rest of the Americans wondering what you are talking about, let's clarify things a bit.   The coin in the picture with the Indian head on it is generally known as a Buffalo nickel or 5 cent piece (because of the Bison/Buffalo on the reverse).   It was minted between 1913 and 1938.    As a general rule, unless we are talking about a gold coin, when Americans refer to a coin as an "Indian Head", they are usually talking about a US 1 cent piece minted between 1859 and 1909

Steiner, Welcome from Florida. Good find. Silver is always good. Unusual to recover any leather here in Florida because of the heat and water. I found a lady's metal change purse from sometime after 1945 and the leather and fabric was gone. Only the metal part was left. also found a very large brass money clip that still had the remains of bills in it. What was left of the bills was about the size of a quarter and black. Don't know the age but I would guess no older than the 1990s from the condition of the brass.
