@ Eugene: I will increase the number of recent topics on the frontpage. No problem!

@ Ray: Do you mean the path URL like e.g.

THunting.com Treasure Hunting & Metal Detecting Message Boards > Our Community > Site FAQ, Suggestions & Trouble Shooting > Updates (Moderator: Christian) >
Site Suggestions & Improvements - Your help is needed

I sure can add this to the bottom of each topic page.

Also you can use the Up and Down Arrows to move autoamtically to the Top or Bottom of a page.

Regards,

Christian

Also you can use the Up and Down Arrows to move autoamtically to the Top or Bottom of a page. It's faster to use the elevators and mouse.

Well, how about that. The Home button takes me up at light speed. However, since I use the mouse to read messages, it would still be nice to have a repeat of the navigation bar down at the bottom of the list when we get there.

Yes, that navigation bar repeated at the bottom would be terrific. Yes, the up/down arrows work but that's not an instant jump with Firefox.

Well, I'll be darned. I just used the Home and End buttons to leap up and down. But thanks for considering adding the menu bar. It will help those of us who use the mouse to navigate.

Hello Christian,
Thanks for welcoming me earlier!! I am new here and have not seen this but what about a spell checker for the post. If you have already- great- I'll find it. What about a donate link. Like I said I am new and do not have access to the entire site. You may have this already too. I justknow that it takes money to keep things operating.

Christian I noticed that if you search for thunting.com on a search engine and are using Norton's antivirus 360 that a gray symbol will come up next to

You are not allowed to view links.

www.thunting.com
. If Norton has reviewed the website and it is clear of trojans, viruses, etc the mark will be green, untested gray, yellow or red to alert the user to stay away. New potential users might not come take a look without a green symbol. In order to get this changed someone would need to go to Nortons website. Register and fill out the forms.Just thought since I did overlook the donate button ( make it bigger by the way) maybe there will be more donations!!! that I would lend some hopefully helpful info.

Christian,

There's also a minor issue with the "Replies to Your Posts" reporting. It seems to be one behind when you have opened a post that is on the list. In other words, if you have 5 posts to read, when you select the first one it still indicates that you have 5 to read rather than 4, which is the case.

Is that endemic to the SMF software or is it a setting?

I'll bet you had no idea of the can of worms you opened here. LoL

Best,
Ray

Thanks for all your advice. I will register the site with Norton!

As far as the reply counts goes I just checked on it and it seems to work for me but I will look more carefully.

Best wishes and please keep the feedback coming,

Christian

Just now, when I clicked the message to see your reply, this was the screen view I got indicating there was still one message unread despite my actually being in the message topic to read it. Maybe I'm wrong but it seems to me that it should have gone to zero to indicate I had none left to read.

Hi Christian, I do have a couple of more ideas. What do you think about a members search option-like if I wanted to find other members in Mississippi trying to find other relic hunters or someone else tometal detect with. Like I said earlier I am new and there might already be this option and I haven't run across it yet. Hope my suggestions are helping.
