Hi everyone,

My name is Tom Bauer and I work for Pixcom Productions in
Montreal. You might have heard we're looking for guys, and gals, to be
on our series about metal detecting in Florida.

If you ever wanted to be on TV, now's your chance. We're looking
for upbeat people who hunt. Whether you're hunting Spanish treasure
or bling along the towel line, the most important thing for the
show is that you're a serious hunter with a purpose.

We have lots of room on this series for all kinds, and many recurring
characters, so don't be shy, especially if any of the following applies to you:

Do you have major goals around your hunting activity? Are you
trying to sling this as a living? Are you saving up your gold
for something special, like a down payment on a house or a
new car? If you're in this for the money and the riches, as
well as the thrill of the hunt, then we want to know.

This will be a no-holds-barred series on what's really going
down out there. We know it's dog-eat-dog on the beaches,
so the timid need not apply. And yeah, we know how important
your secrets are, so all interviews in strictest confidence.

I look forward to hearing from you, will be happy to call
and interview anyone enthusiastic enough to want it.

Thanks,
Tom Bauer

Hello Tom ,  I and my dive partner have been metal detecting for "treasure" right here in Quebec for several years .I use the term treasure in the broadest sense "in the eye of the beholder" so to speak. We have over time accumulated many artifacts including coins from Spain and other countries along with military and trade goods. This year we plan to shoot some video for an upcoming display in Dorval to commemorate the bicentennial of the war of 1812 1814,if you are interested in viewing these items or have any other interest in this matter please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Regards and good hunting

Hi Tom,
I'm not a "Florida" treasure hunter but I am on the trail of Spanish Gold. I live near the Blue Ridge Mts in southeast Tennessee. It is well known that Hernando De Soto treked through this area on his way to the Mississippi in 1540. I am convinced that he left a considerable cache of Gold in this area for pick-up on his return trip and that one of those caches was found and lost again in the last century. If you are interested in my claim and quest drop me a line at d.mizell@kudzunol.com and I will tell you more. thanks for your time - doug

After seeing the National Geographic show on detector folks , I want NOTHING TO DO WITH ANY OF THEM.

Being Portrayed as a bunch of Gumball Fools, does no good for the Hobby.

Nope Leave me out of this one.

Notice the National Geographic folks stay away from Public lands so not to get caught up in the 1906 Antiquities Act?

No mention of the stuff.

There tooth paste tube could fall under the act.

A Antiquity.  More then 50 years old.  God, I'm that old.
