TURKEY

The 1973 Antiquities Act carries very extensive lists of movable and immovable objects protected including places of ancient settlement or places where there are vestiges of ancient civilisations (Article 1). All objects are the property of the State (Article 3 ) and reporting is obligatory (Article 4) but a reward system exists (Article 47).

There is a specific provision against treasure hunting, illicit excavation and dealing in antiquities (Article 51 - 52). Unauthorised treasure hunting carries a penalty of 2 - 5 years imprisonment and fines of =A35,000 to =A310,000 (Article 47).

Thank you for the information. I knew that laws were strict in Turkeyx but these are some real facts. Thanks for posting them!

I had visited Turkey last time abozt 3 years ago. I was there during WInter so it was much colder than we had expected. How did quite a few walks at the beach and I found two nice pieces of old amphores. Unfortuately I couldn't take them back home with me for the obvious reasons whoch was a pitty.

I'm posting a picture of one here.

There is no penalty for treasure huntıng ın turkey if you follow the legal ways and obey the rules.
If there is anyone here  who has documents about  hidden something ın turkey, ı can make cooperation. If you are serious, we can talk the details. Searching for treasure is very simple and can easil get useful permissions. But digging sections is expensive and tiring if u choose the legal ways.
You can always contact me for cooperatıon or information.
Best wishes
