Grin Grin Grin This is Africa mate mind you we use them a lot in Europe as they now have them hooked up via satellite and the communication long distance works out a lot cheaper You even get pre paid cards for these calls via satellite you first have to dial a number then the number of the destination and you are then told the time that you can have. I'm sure that you have them in the States (The cards I mean) LOL Peter must be soooo irritated with the phone company by now that I think I can see some smoke signals in the sky or is that a jembe (Small African Drum) that I can hear   Grin

Hey Guys,

Let me fill you all in with the latest news on Telkom  Shocked

First off, there is some light at the end of the tunnel.... I see a trench heading towards my home that is being dug  Clapp that probably means I still have another month or so to wait, as they dig very slowly here  Detecting

Anyway, for a good laugh  Grin Grin Grin I got an account for R800+ for a PHONE I do not have, anyway after phoning the telephone companies accounts department I was told to only pay R57 for calls I had made before the line went down.... This I did by the way  Funny Anyway, they told me that the sytem had been updated, and that all was fantastic  No no! I then got a SMS on the mobile to tell me that I am in arrears by R450+ and that if I DO NOT PAY they will suspend the line I DO NOT HAVE  Idea I phoned them again, to be told that the system had not updated the records, but now all is fantastic and problem has now been solved  Wise Well today I get an email telling me that I am now owing R1001.02 for the phone I do not have, so what now  Coffee STAY TUNED FOR MORE INFORMATION IN THIS SAGA......

Well the Potch detecting trip was cancelled due to the other guys business.... so I went detecting local on Saturday.... was a great trip to some house foundations.... What did I find besides lots of rubbish  Hello I found a 1981 2 cent piece, and a 1973 1 cent piece..... This is very signifficent  Idea 1973, was the year I left England for Rhodesia, and 1981 was the year I left Rhodesia and came to South Africa..... I guess like a deck of cards, coins can also be an almanac (if you dont know what I am talking about drop me a line)  Laughing I also found a bottle top which I have never heard off, so research is in the pipeline  Great So I had a fun time out, while Xavier was swimming in the floods.... Where I stay it was hot and sunny  Kiss

Enjoy the day....

No No No as I went out side to look at it a big cloud from here to Cairo came and blocked the view  Angry and before that it was as clear as a night sky could be I'm really sad about that.  Cry  Now the next one will be in 2015. And to top it all my solder station gave up the ghost  Cry I'm not having a good week.  Sad

All the best

What power do you use there? We use 240vac. I have to give all of my soldering stuff away since the US uses 110vac.

Any takers?
