I know exactly what you mean in Senegal all the of man hole covers have been stolen so in order not to fall in them they have filed them with old tyres but when there are floods some people are found in the harbour (the water outlet is in the harbour) sometimes only some weeks after they have fallen in one of those man holes, most of the times they are kids. The reason that they still fall in them is because of the water pressure pushing out the tyres.

I could cast polymer concrete manhole covers for them........
Hit Wilderness beach yesterday, I had the little ones with me so I could only hunt a short while.
Takings included a junk ring, R10 and some sinkers. Going to try Vic Bay at low tide, freezing here so hoping that no one is on the beach!

Ok guys, this is very desperate indeed  No no! I still do not have a telephone line... writing this from work again  Angry I have phoned Telkom (telephone provider) and they told me the cable was stolen for sure.... This is about the 9th time this year I think that I have not had a line..... Getting sick of it now  Thumbs Down

I hope you guys have been saving the pulltabs, as we have serious work to do with them  Great I have come up with a great idea that will save the treassure hunters planet  Grin It is a matter of recycling, getting the most out of them tabs  Idea

AU, still got my ticket, we have work to do on that field my friend.... the best part is that Xavier will not be able to steal our treasure with that gigantic detector of his  Grin Grin Grin

Viking, how come we never see photo's of all this treasure? I went to a fantastic house site Saterday, but the grass was so long, and full of Black Jacks.... I have photo's and will post when I can......  :Smiley

Now about those manholes and power cables...... Here in SA, they climb the poles and cut the cables.... They have cut mine about 3 times now..... In fact most of the cables in the streets have been cut and joined at some time.....
The manholes is a problem here also.... They steal the metal ones for scrap metal. Then we made plastic ones, and now they steal them also as there is now money in plastic.... The latest we have done is made concrete covers, but these tend to break easier, but do last a lot longer.... What we do find is that they do steal these in hopes that we will replace with metal ones  No no! These guys are not stupid  Shocked
I am working at a water treament works, and we have had bodies come through the system that have fallen down drains etc.... sometimes dumped in drains to try and get rid of bodies (murdered)  Violent We have also gotten dead animals, gas bottles, tyres, oil drums and many other such junk.... It can get interesting at times  Cheesy

If all goes well, I should be back soon, or I will try and write again tomorrow when I get back to work..... Seeya all soon  Great

Hi All...the stealing of copper wire is nothing new. Back in 1958 when I was stationed in Morocco while serving in the US Navy, we had a communications building about 1 mile from the main base. Our wires went underground from that building to another communications building at the main base. Well the locals would go in the tunnels where the wire was and cut huge sections of cable and drag it outside the base. Once outside the base, they were free as the birds that fly. We, by law, couldn't pursue them nor arrest them. These cables were at least 3 inches round. Quite profitable for these raiders...

Hello ladies.
I"m doing a hunt for three teams on the beach tommorrow morning. Another international Amazing Race.
It's going to be pretty hectic hehehe.
Poor buggers. I had to cut my Holiday a day short so.......Think I might do a quick search while I set up.
I can't have them finding the good stuff now can I ?
Any way all I still found up the coast a little toy jeep.....My boy claimed it immediately!
I can't wait to get my pc sorted....will post pics etc.
