As long as I can remember there has been a concern of pollution regarding cans they reduced that with the pull tab the thing is the pull tab should really stay on the can (but they don't) then they made the tin very thin I don't know if you can remember the first beer cans but they were made in three bits top, side and bottom and the use to rust

For the guys who are laughing from the aluminium tabs : "   At one point in history, aluminium was such a valuable commodity that rulers and the wealthy preferred impressing their guests with plates and cutlery made from aluminium rather than gold. " - that is from the history of Aluminium ! And the history like to turn around ...

Can you believe it, we are fascinated by the pulltab  No no!  Shocked  Grin I still occasionally come across cans made from tin and just about rusted away... I think the pulltab on these cans would of also rusted away seeing as they were so thin. Like Xavier said, they are supposed to stay with the can, but that idea was a disaster... With the new design and the pulltab being small it seemed to help with staying on the can.... the bad part of these are that people force them off the can as matter of habit....  Great These new tabs are what Jewelery are made from, so these are the one's to look for  Kiss
