I have the answer  Great just carry a frigging stun gun.... watch that puppy squirm  Rider

Jim, you are now making me jealous, is that a gold sovereign (spelling?)? looks like a great coin for my collection..... I think for all the comments that guy made against me.... I will pillage all the fields over in Northampton, and leave them nothing to find  Laughing that should make him happy....

Xavier, maybe use an old dog whistle and up the volume of it,,,, that should do the job  :Smiley

HI All, Good pictures Jimmy, sounds like you had a great trip. Some gold coins would be nice   Cool
Peter you could try to get on the waiting list of some of those clubs, if they have some good ground. Just an idea. Keep knocking! Xavier what frequency are your coils?

Peter if you want to go detecting I've got a few places in mind, put all the lower end of your detector in your suit case
and keep the control box in you hand luggauge and rap all the bits up so they are safe and take out the battery pack

I believe that to be a bad idea. Non working electronics is suspicious and can result in your unit being confiscated. When carrying a phone or laptop, the person checking through security has to show that both work as normal.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Okay so a cattle prod it is then! Xavier would you know how to up the voltage on these things I kind of want the dog to end up stiff and upside down for a couple of minutes....that will get the owners attention lol!
Nice finds there Jimmy!
Pgill I agree with the others. I would just take apart my machine and put it in my luggage. And if something was to go wrong with it...well I can always get you another one hehehe!
Lucky Bum is all that comes to mind.....I have family in the Netherlands....anyone know of good detecting sites in the Netherlands?

Hey Xavier an old friend of mine had a doggy thing about the size of a garage door opener.
So I think dond give up you couldbe onto something there.
I should also say I agree, Pgill take yuor machine as mentioned before. Go with what you know. Aslo detectors could be cheeper over there on the second hand market so probly worth a look into also. Good luck         Cool

Au/Peter....in my travelling days with detector, I ALWAYS keep the control unit in my handluggage. No one has ever questioned me on it. I've gone to lots of places as well and no one stopped me...Yes to and from South Africa, Australia, the Caribbean and many many times to England. My reason for handluggaging the control unit is because if someone at the checked-in airport screening dept has sticky fingers, there goes your whole unit and it's been known to happen. I also carry my detector manual with me to back up my proof of what it is just in case someone decided to look at it. Good luck.

Peter. Sept is a good month to go to england as the farmers are between crops or just planted crops.
