"An finally, my best advice: If you do not have a LOT of patience, stop trying to learn PICs now and rather spend your money on a few bottles of good quality South African red wine!"

LOL I do that any way and I do have a lot of Patience but boy when I run out of it I really do run out of it LOL. Have you seen FlowCode 4 ?

I do suggest that you also have a look at their tutorial.

Have fun Xavier

Had a look at Flowcode but their statement "The great advantage of Flowcode is that it allows those with little to no programming experience to create complex electronic systems in minutes." makes me bit of a skeptic.

When something sounds like a fairytale it most probably is.

I looked around on their user forum and it confirmed my suspicion. But it might still be a useful development tool to start with.

Well I did manage to get stuff to work but like you just said it's not true that with no experience you can create complex programs if it was then why do they have a tutorial? but it does make thing a lot easier I got a binary calculator to work with it also an LCD to display a short mesage I guess that this is easy stuff when you know how to program PIC's but in me I know zip about it.

No no it said where is that pot of gold. Did you get the location for spione kop ? If you have the coordinates I have a GPS Ho and by the way I found an interesting thing on the farm it looks like it could be a grave but I will have to clear the area first to be sure.

So whats wrong with your car I'm sure that there will be a long weekend coming soon if we leave early on a Saturday morning we will be there by 10h00 then back to the land of all evil on the Sunday early afternoon we would be back by 17h00 or what am I saying. Only thing to find out before we go is are we going to be allowed to hunt on that ant hill?
Got me a Nokia 5230 damn thing's like a mini computer my dad asked me if I could use it to phone too LOL.

Hello Peter and Xavier...Saw your mention of Spionkop. Thot I'd post a few pixs when we were there in 2006....
First one is on the way up...we were supposed to ride up but the main gate was locked so we decided to walk....tiring to say the least...
Second is looking backwards from where we were...the river in the background is the Tugela (I think)
Third is of the valley on the right hand side of the mountain
Fourth is two of our mates detecting a long ways off...
And the last one is of a gravesite up on top...there were many sites like this.
PS: Nothing much was found, actually I believe I was the only one that found a button...We walked along the ridge for a long way and actually coming down we were mostly on our backside, sliding....a very very incredible and memorable journey to say the least, one that I'll treasure for sure.

Xavier, what is wrong with those quad bikes  Funny they would be ideal..... We must look at something for the future..... sounds like fun to me..... I also like the sound of the Tugela river, they find lots there.....  Great
Jim, thanks for the photos.... can you detect at the main site? or was you guys on other peoples properties that border the main site? I would think that every 2nd person has detected there  Cry I would still like to go there though, as a matter of a historical nature....

Peter...I'm not sure where we were at. All I know is we walked up to the top of Spionkop and then walked along the ridge for quite a ways. We also were staying at the Tugela River Lodges for 3 or 4 days. That in itself was an experience most Americans would never see or do. No electricity, hot water was provided by a hundred gallon drum being heated by a wood fire and fed by gravity. We were overlooking the Tugela River. It was quite an experience....Loved it....Jim
