G'Day Mate,,,, well try turning the gain down a bit and with that detector it will make a clipping sound before the solid signal sounds, also If you come at it from differant angles One way it will beep and from another direction it will clip or grunt washers and horseshoes and square bolt heads will fool it and ofcoarse big lumps of Iron will always sound good, But if you listern to the machine the quality of the High Tone will sound slightly fuzzy or broken, with practice you should be able to tell what coin it is before you dig it up, My Mate who first showed me what it can do  can tell what it is without digging it up and about 95% of the time he's spot On, So Mate when your at home practice sweeping at differant speeds and listern to the signals fast and slow you need to train your ears and make a mentle note of these tones and you will be as good as him, This Guy is Amazing and no Matter what the Detector is he manages to Master it like no One I have ever met, Anyways give that ago Mate and let us know how you get on, And Listern to them and you will hear the minute changes, Good Luck and let me know how you get on, OK

G'day Peter,,, Look Mate that 12" coil is a great coil but after a while I got the older DFX 9.5 Coil and put that on because you could swing it for 12 hours a day as it has the perfect balance and if your ground is a bit hot it handles the mineralization a little better which means you can turn up the power a touch more and in your type of ground it goes just as deep,,,You can use the new DFX coil but the older one is lighter and easier to keep clean so if you can find one it should be about £30 to £50 quid at the worst, so give that ago and see how you get on mate..

At half power my mate found a halfpenny at over 13" down with that 12" coil so dont be scared to turn it down because it does have some serious power, YOU could be just blinding the machine with too much gain,

No mate I havent been detecting for a while now 1 because its cold and with my Heart problems I would be in serious trouble But saying that I am thinking about buying another detector like yours and a V3i maybe,,,Im going to do a search in a minate and see what deals are going around.

Take care mate,,Talk soon

Hi guys!  Just checking in.  I've been gone a while.   Okay, I just got back last Saturday from spending two weeks in Hawaii, on the Big Island!  It was great!  Temperatures in the 70'sF and 80'sF.  Did a deep sea fishing day, caught a small yellowfin tuna, and found out that is NOT my game!  Traveled around the island seeing and visiting various sites and towns, and spend some time just relaxing.  Meanwhile at home it was snowing and cold and miserable.  Not there!  Had a good time, glad to be home.

Good day gentlemen!
Been a while , nice to see you  guys are all still posting, I haven't been detecting for a while now. Been a bit hectic at work and busy with all sorts of projects.
Also toying with the idea of moving to Europe. Holland probably but that's still in the discussion stages. I'm starting to really hate this place and the locals. Getting rather tired of crime and the violent nature of that. Corruption is the norm etc etc.
Bit worried about the work situation there, but I would be able to ship my entire business in a container no problem. Now I am just trying to establish the legalities of starting your own thing there in Europe.
I too am not receiving notifications of new posts and I was under the impression that the forum went quiet. I'll just have to keep checking back here from time to time.
Anyway you all keep well, chat again soon.
Viking

Wow, Viking!  Long time since you last posted.  Great to hear from you.  Best of luck if you decide to head to Europe and take your business with you.

Are you still in the detector business, or do you have other business going on?  Anyway, welcome back!
