Hi Silki
My CZ also clips on to the belt but that is not always a good thing when you dive. It means that you will have the coil lead floating around you. Safety issue maybe.
It is nice for the beach though, they get quite heavy.
I have also sold a few machines to the guys in Zimbabwe. They seem to love the G2.Funny thing is that if the guys up there knew that you don't need a R40000 GPX to find nuggets there I could save them a packet!
I have a client who wants me to come up there and hunt with them, they find ridiculous amounts of gold nuggets....but I too am afraid of becoming someones girlfriend in an African prison Cheesy
Although he does have the permits and concession documents...you never know when they are going to try and make "an example " of you.
I have two beautiful children and a gorgeous wife.....That's my nugget that is my gold nugget for now!
Viking

Hi Silki, Viking.....

I am here.... I posted earlier but it seems to have disappeared..... Maybe because I posted in another area also..... but anyway what can I say  Grin I have added all my bank notes onto my website under the hobbies section, go and take a look.....

We do have another person following us, he contacted me and we spoke today... He lives in Randburg, Gauteng and was wondering about our little club.... well I will give him a visit probably next week and see what we can do.....
This Saturday, I am going on a trip with Xavier so should be fun... not 100% sure where we are going yet, but who cares as long as there are gold coins with my picture on them  Funny

Silki, keep searching, you will find what you are looking for..... I may have found a gold coin, but look at what Viking is finding.... I think in the long run, he is doing better than me with all those coins, buttons and buckles. He has found a great site, and you can also... Keep focused and use all the resources to find those places.

Viking ! You are 100% right - there is lots of stories about gold in Zim , diamonds in Angola and Kongo etc, but unless you in charge of bunch of mercenaries I would rather dig for old coins and ( maybe .. ) some yellow ring sometime !

Hi Silki,

I know you are not jealous about my coin.... But it is nice when a person can start to find some good stuff. I have not found much for quite some time.... and need to find something soon  Great

It is not so easy here in SA to find really good sites to detect on..... but perseverance will prevail  Detecting

As for Zimbabwe, it is too dangerous at this time as the war vets are starting up again, and are taking over places again.... I would not go there at this time  No no! Would love to find nuggets though.... Does anyone know how to go about getting prospecting licenses here in SA, and what they cost? Might be worth looking into.

As far as I know , for now , it is highly illegal to look for and collect raw gold , but this guy , George   - Minelab dealer , told me that he is organizing meeting with some officials to discuss mater of licensing for amateurs (?)  Will see !

Hi Silki.
My intel is that the diamonds are the big no no and that the goverment is not too heavy on gold.
As far as meeting the officials goes. We have already and they sound like they might want to bring us to their table. Will keep you informed, but for now that is all I have.
I am waiting  for my client to get back from a trip up there, testing some of our equipment.
Must say I can't wait. Cheesy

Hey Pgill
Can't wait for the clip of your hunt with Xavier. And I am hoping you guys hit the big time there!
Should be good.
I have a meeting in the morning and then I'm going to hit the beach for a couple of hours.
I can feel a FAT ring is due again any time now....platinum.....with diamonds ....yes that's it.

Go Up Go Down

Hi every one.
Good to see everybody keeping busy. Been a bit hectic this week but hoping to get out tomorrow and do a bit of detecting. If found a small field near a old 12th church which looks promising. hopefully the weather will keep fine and i could get a few hours under the belt.
I watched a documentry on the history channel about the british war in south africa. It was about them fighting the zulu's in natal somewhere.
The experts where trying to figure out what really happened there. They had a couple of people using their detectors getting all these old relics up out the ground and piecing everything together.
Viking i like the sound of the Mozambique wrecks. I bet there is loads of treasure waiting to be found.
Pgill hope you and xavier strike it lucky this weekend. Maybe you could find the rest of your lost gold coins.
Could anybody tell me if there are any laws regarding metal detecting there, i know its not as big as the uk or america. I know here you have to declare certain items to the state.
