Anyway, good day today  Great an 1866 British Farthing ( 1/4 Penny ), a Jetton hammered coin from the 1400 - 1500's  Kiss A lead bag seal, and two shotgun shell backs from the 1800's with a side pin for firing (first time I have seen these) I will try and get photo's tomorrow if I remember  Shocked

Oh, boy is detecting good here or what  Clapp

Sounds like a great hunt Peter!   Well done!  Didn't offend me!  Just not been posting...  just reading!  And a late answer...  it was great getting out on the motorcycle...  just lovin' it!  Been having some nicer weather here lately.  Ground hasn't thawed out enough to dig yet, but I may take another ride today  -  have to bundle up to stay warm but it is still better than cabin fever!   Seems we always get a warming spell in February, but we usually pay for it with cold winter weather nailing us for a few weeks more before Spring!    Angry

Homefire, sorry to hear about your problems with the water tank...  that's a real bummer!  But, it sounds like you have the problem well in hand now.  Great

Xavier, I think Peter had a great idea!  Just by a detector you can use on those old sites...   then you can work on building your own, but you will still be able to hunt!  LOL!    Grin

Sounds like the bike is doing well for you  Great I must admit, I am enjoying the detecting here  Kiss but I do have lots to learn with detecting here and the history of Britain....

That would be the same as admitting defeat, can't do that I'm afraid and besides the detector works, it's just that stupid DD coil that I don't like.

Peter old chap, I went to our site across the farm to do some real testing, it was awful I kept looking over my shoulder thinking that I would see you detecting on the other side. I found some of the holes that you dug behind the mud/stone house and some bottle caps that we left by the big rock where we always dumped all our stuff. It was a very strange feeling detecting there all by my self.

Sarcasm won't get you no where MATE. OK do your self a favor buy yourself your favorite beer, go TH Alone and drink the beer, now tell me that it tasted like crap? Ho by the way I found a new site just down the road from us in a land that we have been working for some time now, the spot was right in front of me but I never saw it because it's lower than the land that we are working, will be going there this weekend to check it out.

Well if I survive the Op tomorrow I will continue with my new coil (Coplanar) I have wound the RX coil today so if I can I will wind the TX coil tomorrow and then the bucking coil on Wednesday then if all is well I will make a former for it on Thursday and hopefully have it together by Friday, as you can see I don't have much time in the day to work on my coils.

I sure hope so mate, I've been getting terrible withdrawal symptoms lately, I break out in cold sweat and I have dreams of a metal detector coil chasing me (Is it bad doctor?)
