He's where he always goes on sunday, I expect he'll be here in an hour or so when he gets home,

It's great to see him happy, I think I started something when I took him detecting over here and the first time out he found that very old coin, from the 1200s, thats a good effort for a first time in a strange land, now he just wont stop, I fear that gold coin in his dreams is just around the corner, with the next turn of the spade, bless him.

I bet that he went to Church thinking about his detecting outing, I know that I would if I were to live in a country so full of history. Just think, your walking in the street of London looking at your feet and at every step you take you could be stepping on something great hidden under the walk way, this is enough to drive any detectorist nuts (We need to have this word added to the oxford dictionary "Detectorist")

Well if you check out Thames and field you will get to see what they find on the shoreline of the river thames, they find stuff there from the last 2-3000 years all the time,  from chainmail to coins, armour and more,

Go Up Go Down

Hey, how are the ladies in my life  Funny Funny Funny

First off, I did not look at myself in the mirror and see a fossil, as being a person with YOUNG and GREAT looks, I do not need to look in a mirror to see myself, hey there is not even a mirror in the bathroom of our new house  Kiss

With all your insults guided against me, I went to church this morning to put in a good word for you both as you need it  Amen

Anyway, I do forgive you both, as that is the type of person I am,,,,,, bless you  Club

Check out the photo's of my 16th century finds  Great it is funny I never found a coin though as many were found  Idea I will note those settings you sent me AU.. I did get lots of iron signals, is there any I should dig to get the coins? So much to learn  Teach I need to get out more I think  Cheesy

The nail below is about 6" long with a square head of 1 1/2", the harness ring is about 4" in size with the big loop at about 2" across. these items are big.... the musket ball was found at about 10" down as was the crotal bell... the coin weight was about 7" down.... the button was about 6" down.

Not only that if you dug that muskit ball at 10" your doing well and your machine is working very well,

Now you see what I meen about the depth and you never even had it turned flat out,

Peter all I can surgest is maybe the D2 coil would give you better trash seperation but really you dont need a double D coil there by the sounds of it judging by the depths your getting, maybe the 6x10 for seperation or even the 950/9.5 coil might give you a better chance, But saying that I've used the 300/12" coil in junk filled sites just like you and I've still found stuff, but maybe the coins were somewhere else,
What you should do is detect on the areas people might of gathered or where two point make a path way, IE an old stye or gate then look for another one in the same area and work those ares nd always try and pick the south facing hills because the Romans alway built on south facing hills, Keep going with the same settings and remember DISC =2.7- 2.9 but mainly 2.7 and you will have it licked, Ok
