Man you guys have been busy these past few hours. As I'm now typing like a robot with one finger I'm not going to make this a long post so let me first say that taking sky diving lessons from a stepladder is not a good plan (found that out the hard way).

Hi Jimmy as far as I'm concerned snow looks good on postcards other than that it's just horrid stuff that's cold and gets very mooshy after a while LOL not for me.

Hi flamtech your 5R coin is probably only one or two weeks old but hey who cares you're 12 bucks richer so well done to you.  Put them away towards your new detector at the rate that you're going you'll be able to get one at the end of the year.

Hi Viking  it is the left arm so no problem with the swing but seeing that I cant work it's a darn good reason to be at the beech don't you think LOL

Hi Pgill I'd be nice to me if I were you remember that I will be in JHB soon and I could just decide to keep all them gold coins for me, you know the ones you left in Pretoria LOL man how I feel stupid at the moment and I was so looking forward to meeting up with you and Silky mind you I could still make a plan to come up and just hunt for some time.

All the best to you all
Regards Xavier

Thanks, yes I lost that one last season ....can I have it back now?
You never really know with coins on the beach. Unless of coarse they are early coins.... and have legible dates.
Nice going , what beach did you do?
PGill.......don't let me catch you rushing a site!
Uhg! Griding sounds like homework.....I just want to run wild Grin

I am pretty amped for this hunt....Iv'e been at it for quite a while now...the research that is. I must say I did get some awesome help from a Doctor at UCT.
She looked stuff up for me and sent me pics she took of the British Ledgers....how cool is that? The actual ledger that was on the farm ...being written in as they pillaged and burnt and took the women and children of to the Hell of Springfontein......jissie I get quite emotional now....you kind of feel like you have gotten to know them  during the research.....anyways...I made a memorial stone  to place there after the hunt. The mother returned....minus all her kids and Husband...and he never told her exactly where he had stashed the stuff. There are supposed to be some family documents and deeds as well.
Can you imagine finding it....Hells Bells!
Viking
Pgill I actually wanted to do it on behalf of our group.....as our first deed of goodwill ...we need to get some type of name now, I think.
Also, has every one here filled in the list with PGill yet?

I include a pic of the type of stone I leave behind. This one was done for someones pets. I can't show the actual one as it has to many details on it . I will post once it is placed.
It is a mountain rock that I cut polish and engrave....should last forever!
 Cool later all
Viking

Hey you guys are writing books here  Wise

first off, the rule still stands... ALL gold coins belong to me..... Ok, now that is off my chest as they say... lets carry on  Shocked

Xavier, I have to give a safety lesson tomorrow to about 50 people..... umm should I talk about flying lessons with Ladders...... Ouch, that sounds sore to me.... Still don't know why you were detecting from a ladder... the detectors handle must be long?Huh? At least you should of been detecting, as how else are you going to find the treasure? Get well soon my friend, and hey, when you are well we can get together..... I hate carrying cripples around with me  Welcome

Viking, Not all have filled in the list for the club yet.... guys please PM me your email address so that we can add you to the group.... Do not want to leave an email address for the world to see as they will send me all sorts of @#$#$%  Cry

I am getting all excited about your hunt..... As you know, I love the Boer war..... Wish I was living near you... I would hide behind the trees and follow you and do night detecting  Amen
You do realise we need photos and lots of story with facts.... in fact write a book about it.... Umm, I did tell you that I hid some gold coins in that place.... Please don't play with them... just tell me where they are and I will re-bury them  Shame

As I said earlier, why I wizzed around was for the filming of the epic movie....  Rider But if I am to find the good stuff, I need a system..... I am looking for spear heads etc.... not sure if I will find any though. I normally detect hit and miss style on large properties, but this one and the others, I want to do slowly. Oh and something i did not know is that a lawyer friend of mine has a piece of property on the same hill.... the property is 1Km square... I have all the rights to detect there, and it is behind the fences.... so is safe. The hills are the Gatsrand, for you guys who know your Boer war history, that is a place where the war was fought.... In fact further along the same mountain is the Danie Theron memorial, and there has been Zulu battles on the same hill...... I got good places now to look...  Clapp

I think the Kruger millions are also there..... Well my gold coin was found on the same mountain range, just further along..... I think they dropped the other part on this farm  Hello

Its a beach left of the main beach at Hartenbos. I concentrate on the area where the lifeguards had their flags.

I am of to Cape Town tomorrow, and then to Johies for a week.

Next time I would like to organise my time so that I can meet with you guys up there.

. But it is all in latin as I am still busy with the text. But it gives you and idea of the stuff I do in REAL LIFE! Seriously I have only been busy with the site for 2 days now so don't get confused by the text....it's just a place holder.
PGill what camera are you using, I have a pair of SPY GLASSES but the quality is mediocre and the head movements will have you all vomiting within 5 minutes
hehehe!
By the way , here are a few pics of a teambuild I did recently, it was for a group and they had to find tins on the beach with their next clues in it....all part of a Amazing Race type task. I rented out the machines and helped them with the basics , then I unleashed them at Camps Bay. If you are wondering ....yes I combed the beach the day before ....just to be sure that they did not pick up anything that I want Grin.
There where 235 people in all.....hectic is all I can say , but there was some real eye candy among them.....oops sorry dear , they where all really ugly  :Smiley
Okay now I really must get back to the text for my business site LOL!

Hi Viking....

You will not believe it but I was just online looking at your double dutch writing site..... and was also looking at camera glasses.....  Wise But they are sun glasses, and I would want to see what I was looking at  Funny
I have a small camera which I clip onto the side of an old pair of adapted glasses..... where I look, the camera also looks... The microphone on the camera is very sensitive, that is why you hear my breathing.... sounds like I am about to have a heart attack or something.... I wanted to put sponge over the hole, but if I do I cannot see the leds to know if the camera is recording.

The make of the camera is a Brookstone DV MicroCam, you can see it in the Forum on my website, with a photo of the glasses also. The glasses are very big, so do look a little funny... but who cares they do the job  Funny

And then what I really love. I found this old bottle cap, that still has a cork seal inside, it was around 40 cm down, Lol and it screamed at me. I almost quit digging because I thought it was a cooldrink can. I dug it out of a layer of decaying kelp and stuff.
Anyway it's only trash but I really like it, I really would like to put a year on it.
