They DO NOT always tell you first.

Any one that thinks so has never seen one.

Grumpy little critters.

If you walk up on one real close and wake it up, your going to get Zapped. Cool

Xavier, is it your birthday I see posted on the birthday board today?  Or is that some other Xavier somewhere else?  If it is you, "Happy Birthday!!"  If it is not you, then just ignore this greeting!

Yep it's mine and thanks for the greetings mate. As of next year I'm counting DOWN not up  Grin

a detector MUST be designed around a coil and not the other way around. Designing a coil for an existing machine is a fool's errand in most cases.

GD, I was afraid of that. I had visions of making a coil(s) of the same inductance and slapping it on the machine. If that won't work I'll just buy one.

Xavier, I'm glad I asked.

I just checked and the 11 inch is the largest Fisher makes.

Happy Birthday, old buddy. You do realize that in the fine tradition of treasure hunters the world over, you are required to wear your birthday suit all week long starting with your date of birth.

Go on! Scare the cows!

GD, Reading through the Fisher Manual I found a statement that the machine " required antenna impedance is 53 ohms." and the antenna has a maximum gain of 3 db. The Operating freq is 13 khz. Knowing this would it be possible to design a coil for the machine?
