Hi Viking !
It has been long time ! I did bit of detecting in Poland and now my hands are itching for more ! I did learn also few things , like detecting in water ! I decided to explore a bit one of the popular beach on the lake , which in the summer is quiet busy ( see photo ) and now is autumn , water getting coldish so it is quiet and nice time to do some wading in the lake ! My MD - Excalibur , after bit of learning and exercising with controls , worked very well , immediately I started hitting lots of signals - but recovery it is a big problem , especially if the water is muddy , and depth is more than knee high ! Good scoop is as important as a MD ! Otherwise one spend lots of time looking for target and even than sometime can not find it ! It happened to me many times, eventually I gave up - it was just to cold and my arms and back became very tired ! And there is LOTS of targets waiting to be find there - I got coins 30+ old , so it  means nobody ever tried those places !  I am already busy making good scoop - will show the pictures once it it finished ! Here is also photo of my other recoveries :

Hi Viking, great to have you back again with us..... now stay here and stop moving away  Wise glad to hear business is picking up for you.... times are hard. I love the sound of that place you are talking about.... keep me informed please  Great Boer war is one of my favourites  Great Ah, Kruger ponds  Kiss Kiss Kiss gold, gold, and more gold  Kiss Kiss Kiss

Homefire, our decision to go back comes from quite some time ago, but with the housing market the way it has been we took the house of the market, but it will go back on the market in the very near future. Both of our families are over in England, in fact we are basically on our own here..... pension is getting closer, and is not looking rosy here. Pauline has diabetes, and will need care after pension.... that will be difficult here with the price of medical aid etc..... so with all the needs and changes in our lives, we believe it to be the right way to go.... Also metal detecting in England  Kiss Kiss Kiss Kiss

Silki, those finds are fantastic.... you must of had a ball... hope that you managed to get the stuff back to SA? I would love to do water detecting, but my detectors do not swim  Thumbs Down

Hi Peter ! I still have quiet a nice collection in Poland but with those security measures on the airport I will end up in jail, trying to bring any of this " items " back ! It is pity , because I love to collect all those old stuff , but at least I managed to get few nice bayonets here ! Even in Poland it is highly illegal to keep any live ammunition , even shells and parts of old , rusty guns - everything is regarded as a potentially terrorist equipment , so lots of stuff is ending back in swamps or rivers  Cry   !
For all guys who like technology - some amazing videos -YouTube :" Big Dog Overview - Boston Dynamics " check it out !
