Go Up Go Down

Got out with a good friend to a fairly new park in Weslaco, Tx. Was not expecting a lot but hunting soccer fields can yield just about anything. And BOY IT DID TODAY! First got a nice high tone and got me a nice .925 silver ring. YeeHaa! Silver good. Then as I was about to call it quits, I get a high 90's hit but it was solid. I got my pinpointer and checked out the location and made a hole with the Lesche and felt something solid. I knew that my Lesche had hit the target. As I reached down and retrieved the target I knew that I had something special in my hands. The target was at an angle and I dug where I thought I was behind it but was actually on the edge of the target and I scratched the 1921 Morgan Dollar with my Lesche! DANG! This is the very first Silver Dollar that I have found in my 44 years of detecting and was on my bucket list. Well, I do not care that I scratched it, I am just glad to have finally found one. It is not worth a lot to anyone else but to me it is priceless.

Well, that is terrific. Don't put away that bucket list yet. Next up, find one without a scratch!

Well done!

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

Cool move on working a soccer Field! I used to center ref and having a distinctive coin at the start of play (coin toss) was common practice.

That's great! I once found a silver dollar money clip on a baseball field (that I was playing soccer on). It was during that scandal when those two brothers cornered the silver market.

Nice find and it has on it your very own mint mark.
I do have a mark of my own and unfortunately I use it regularly.   Cry
