 Hello
Hello there, im from indonesia
Found piles of unknow ore metalic, from the corrosion its looks like aluminium, but alu is human product from bauxite right? Metal look when grind, and easy to chip with blade

What is this?

I appears to be slag from a smelter. Hard to tell from the picture.

Yes maybe smelter... Found it around my grandpa house back and front.... Vdi show silver and alu, will try to melt with butane torch

Beer Can Nugget maybe ?  Back in the days when folks would burn the Dump Piles all sorts of matter could be found digging down into the ashes.  Aluminum, Pewter, Tin, Lead and a mixture there of.   Specific Gravity could give you some hints.

You could try a scratch test or a specific gravity test. Both or either should help.

For scratch test, take some porcelain tile and get a scratch color chart. They can be downloaded easily. Scratch the porcelain and compare the color to the chart.

For specific gravity, use a suspension scale and measure in air and then in water. If you don't have one of those, Google it. Super easy to make.
