Go Up Go Down

As some of u may know i have found two or three foundations and am working them about every day. I thought I had my first cache today. I laid out a grid of about 50' x 50' and started. All of a sudden my MD started going nuts..I started moving some dirt and there were some glass bottles and jars buried..man, I thought THIS IS IT>>>but when i uncovered them all I found out that they had nails in them:) LOL OH well ..good find anyway.
I need some help with the last two pics below..I have no idea what it is..any one have any ideas, please let me know and, as always, thanks for your help
Chip

I agree with Seldom, it's part of the hub assembly for a wooden spoked wheel from an early motorized vehicle

Compare with the examples here
