A bad day at gold prospecting or metal detecting is better than a good day at work.

Yeah those were the days man. Love them old trucks. You weren't thought of much if you drove a straight six passenger car. Grin. My greatest car however was my 2 door '64 goat (GTO) 421, dual carbs, Muncie 4 speed w/ overdrive, bucket seats, and stick on the floor. Could easily do 120. I got T-boned by a beer deliver truck trying to cross the freeway.  Exhausted Nothing left worth saving on the car. I lucked out with only a broken jaw. No air bags back then.

Back In 1980 I had a friend who had 1 66 GTO and it Ran High 13s on the strip it was A 2 Door Hard Top Black Vynal Roof and Orange Paint,
It Had the TACHO out side the car On The Hood Moulded in to it from the Factory,

I myself Had a 1956 Plymouth 4 Door and A 1969 Dodge Dart and A 1968 Dart 770 (318 Fireball), the Engine I in the 69 I built up from an EX Race car and I took out the Auto that was in mine and Put in the factory Race 3 speed it did 0-60 in 5.4 to 5.6 seconds and a 110 in second and I still had one to go, It was a bit over powered I broke 3 engine mounts a 2 clutches in the first couple of days, Then I fixed that problem and it was good, It use to lift the front left wheel right of the ground,  Not Bad for 245 Hemi,

I don't remember if the Hood mount Tach was an option in '64 , but I don't think it was because of the hood Scoop for the Dual carbs. '64 was the first year for the goat. '65 thru 68 they got bigger and looking more like muscle cars instead of sport cars I had a friend that had 3 two-barrel carbs that was screamer, but mine was just factory mods the whole way. Street legal. But nobody ever got past me. Grin . In later years I had a '68 that I was building, but ended up selling it because of divorce.

Here's a pic of my toy truck I use for prospecting. No monster 4 wheeler, but it gets me there.

The racers always wanted the 64 version. Best I could do was a 64 Corvair Spyder...

Listen Mate, Detecting is much more than swinging a Coil and finding stuff, It also makes you chill out and get your mind right which helps you through the weeks ahead, If you don't have that Break to do what you want then all the rest will suffer and knowing you have bought the gear and it is just sitting there will wind you up even more,
The world wont fall apart if you go of detecting for a while, You Need to do this because the Happier you are will reflect on others around you, So Make the Time and get it out of your system

Good Luck AU
