Go Up Go Down

Three hours of hunting in 6-10' deep water. Sixty targets recovered. Had a lot of fun but no gold. Every dive down I get a signal. Kind of stumped why there's no rings? Maybe because it's mainly young college aged kids jumping in this hole.

Did you check the detector on different carat gold rings?
Perhaps you don't pick them up all together.  Sad
Gold it’s heavy. Perhaps it’s sitting dipper than your metal detector can detect

It's a Vibra-tector 730 (PI). It's a bottom covered in compacted pea-plum size rocks with sand and silt. I'm focusing on the deepest section but it wares me out. Sixty targets in three hours, three minutes per target. I'd like to dive down with a heavier weight belt and a hooka. Then I could collect buckets of "pay dirt" and sift through it above water. I guess that's what a dredge is for but they're illegal here in CA.

Is the cell phone  there  for sizing or was that  found in the hole too? A hint about using the vibra detector: Find targets first wth your main waterproof detector, mark them with flags, then go down with your digger and probe and get them out. Saves a lot of work and diving. Pinpointer's are for finding stuff in a hole you have already dug.

A bad day at gold prospecting or metal detecting is better than a good day at work.

I found the cell phone. It's a Galaxy 5s. What do you guys do with found cell phones?
Thanks for the advice Dusty Carl. At the swimming hole I'm hunting it's a two mile hike down a steep trail. I've already got a back pack filled with diving gear so less weight is important. Also, I find a target with my 4" coil within seconds on each dive.
