That makes sence as fine work would require a smaller version of the one in the links, so that is a positive answer I can live with that as a posible tool for wood working.....I have enclosed a pic of the tomohawk found a long time ago.

You'll have to forgive me but I do not know what a pipe tomahawk is "was" finding Indian artifacts around 1812 sites is very rare because they used the same weaponry as the soldiers and the tomahawk is probably the most identifiable object, as "musket" balls are the most prolific find you do not know who fired or lost them...Johnn

The last tomahawk you posted looks like it has a hole on the round end. If it does it probably is a pipe tomahawk. They were made so you could put tobacco in the hole and smoke it. If you look at the last site I listed they have some examples of them.
