Go Up Go Down

I went back to one of my old spots and found more there yesterday than all of the other times I have hunted it in the past years combined.
The spot was inhabited by Cherokees and soldiers from about the late 1820s through probably the early 1860s.
I dug a couple of busted pieces of silver ornamentation. The inset flowers are gold and a hole was drilled into the top piece. It was probably worn as jewelry. Some of my finds also include a crumpled silver brooch, a silver wing maybe off of an eagle, a padlock key hole cover, and some musket balls with one unclipped. I found the blue glass trade bead and the stone bead in a different spot earlier yesterday morning.

Nice interesting variety of finds - I really like the piece with the flowers. Stone bead & wing, too. Great site you've discovered - neat that you found more there than ever before - maybe rain helped. Hope you find even more the next time you're there. Sue
