measure for specific gravity.
(alt) Both silver and lead will mark paper, but lead marks darker than silver. if you have some sinkers or .22lr, and a sample of sterling silver you can do a streak test on paper. what you describe seems to be dead soft lead.

I think the first is lead (first two picks) from the way that the edge is bent.
Testing the way that poptot suggested will give you a good indication. if you are not wary about loosing value use a riser blade. It will cut lead very easy.

Hi John boy
They are lead alloy, I dont know how old you are but I received very similar medals during the coronation of queen Elizabeth II in 1953 no idea where they went but they were very "bendy" I have others from queen Victoria's reign "detector finds" some are lead alloy others are pewter, nice finds........HH............Johnnn
