That's neat info. Thanks. I only found one spike (so far) that was still holding a tie plate to a tie piece. I'm cleaning it with electrolysis to see if I can see a date. I'm taking this by stages in which I'm first looking for coins and tokens, then I will review the area in relic mode to look for more spikes or plates. Not collecting a whole of them unless finding someone local interested in them.
