Go Up Go Down

Hello Everyone, more rail items today, pulled a nice 30" piece of 1 1/2" rail up and a bunch of iron.

I just cant believe the amount of things I am finding,so much fun i am addicted. Had to leave early today a bull came over to where we were, so I learned how fast I could get everything up and over a fence,Good thing I was only about 30ft from it, going to have to not use headphones i almost did not see him coming. Our Farmer friend told us we could go where we wanted but he was not responsible for injury now I know what he really meant.
My detector buddy uses a cane and he beat me to the fence,I  Am sure the bull was laughing at us both.  Till next time.
Lou

No, you are not. I'm following your posts as someone would a soap opera  Wink. Keep posting pics. Hey, any ideas what you'll do with all of those finds? Also, I began the electrolysis on my log splitting wedge and it's coming out great. I've been taking pics to show. After that piece, I'll do a mid-1800s massive butcher's cleaver ax I found last November. That thing is a monster with a 12" blade and is 20" long. It reminds me the one used by Bill the Butcher of Gangs of New York.

That's the same track gage they used in the old mines here and Arizona.

Not sure what to do with everything, my garage is starting to fill up, a lot is just broken pieces and I have about 10 pieces of rail and we are now starting to find some logging tools. 100s of bolts and nuts and 100s of spikes. don't forget to put your pics up when that is clean i am waiting to see how that works out for you.

Yes , they used it a lot here in phosphate mines too,but the line i am following is a lumber line that I hope one day will lead me to an old engine that is supposed to be laying on its side here. Cant do anything with it but sure would be nice to see.

The electrolysis is coming out good. I'll post all the pics tomorrow for the splitting wedge found. At least I know the spikes have a market, don't know about the other things, but hey, they are pieces of the past and should have at least historical value.  Cool
