Had an hour or so to try my luck this afternoon in a local park. Found a lot of junk which is alright, by being able to locate the junk I am learning how to use the detector (Garrett ACE 250). Found a 5c piece also which I will not spend all at once. Better luck next time

In my time at treasure hunting, I have had days where I found over $100.00 and days when I found less than 50c. They all add up no matter what.

Where are you in Australia? Perth side here.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

You'll have good days and bad days, but its still fun to get out and learn what the machine is telling you, just do your research and find some good places to detect....Good Luck, Happy Huntin....DW

Thankyou for your reply. My name is Tom and live in Caboolture Qld. which is approx 50 k north of Brisbane on the main line to Cairns. Like I indicated I have only done a small amount of detecting but thoroughly enjoy it. I did a lot of research looking for a detector to fit my small budget. The Garrett ACE 250 seemed to be the pick and now I have it - I love it. Look forward to staying in touch.

Tasherlock, good luck with the ACE 250. Its a good machine once you learn how to use it. It took most of a year and a hundred hours before I understood what it was telling me. gambol

And NEVER EVER think that a park is hunted out??? I've been hunting the same park here on and off for 20 years and ALWAYS find something.  Great
