Detecting  Today I found two silver dimes  (1912 barber & 1950 Roosevelt) plus 10
wheat pennies in about 1 hr.....The M..SE Pro seems to work great with 8 " factory coil. I know this former carnival ground has been hunted quite a bit over the years. A good detector, patience and the right coil will give you what the others left behind.

I also hunted two other sites earliar in the day which produced about 40 clad coins, a couple of wheaties and 1 1883 Indian head penny in good shape. Go slow and find
more........John in Va..

Greetings John

You gotta love those Minelabs. The SE Pro is a real silver eater. I was a dealer for a while so I got to play with a lot of thier machines. I had the Pro unitl I got my E-Trac. I think the Pro has a sweeter sound on silver than the Trac, but I love my E-Trac. Go low and slow and you will scrub out what others have missed. I carry and use other detectors when i hunt, but my Trac does 70% of the work. Sounds like you had a good day. Any day with silver is a good day.  Great

Thanks
Todd

Hi Todd.........Yes, I do like the Minelab detectors. I'm thinking about getting the E-Trac
model next year as a second detector. What are the things that you find most appealing about the E-Trac over the Se Pro? What state are you in?  Have a good one ......

Detecting    those Minelab explorers are excellent machines alright. My cousin uses an earlier explorer-may be the SE and he outdoes me every time we go detecting together-I like Tesoro machines , but I think more coins can be found on a hunt using an explorer or SE. Great

I dont know what happend but I lost a post.
My first reply just vanished, so here it is a again.
John
I live in central Texas just N of Austin. The E-Trac is a differant machine all together. Faster processor, more segmantaion, diff FE/Co display, more pattern making abilities, computor interface and diff tones, but wait theres more. Grin
I took me a while to get used to it. I tried to treat it like it was a SE, but its not. Once I got used to it I never looked back. I still like the way silver sounded on the SE, but my Trac finds it just as well. Just a sound diff. There is a program called the E-TRac Emulator or E-TacEm just google it and you can download it or send me an email and I will try to send it to you. It turns your computor into an E-trac. i would down load the manuel first and read it a couple of times first. Also Andy Sabbich has a good book on the Se and Etrac look for it. I liked my Se but I like my E-trac better Great
Trying to run both machines will drive you nuts.

Todd

Todd.......Thanks for the reply, I'll keep your post for future reference. The E-Trac more than likely will be my next detector. I don't mind having to study a machine to get the best out of it. Have a good day in the great state of Texas.......John in Va. Detecting

John, here is some free software you can download that will help you to resize them for web use. Using the Reply rather than the Post button will give you a place where you can attach photos.

Download the free resizer here:
