Go Up Go Down

The weather is warm again and I took advantage of it the most I could. I found my first silver men's ring, a lot of pennies, loads of tabs and garbage a small childs silver ring and a cool, vintage Luger toy gun! If anyone can tell me more about it, I'd be most happy. It's in pretty good condition for being buried in a field. It says it's made in Spain, but I can't make out the company logo. Also found a key, and a HotWheels toy. I'm having so much fun with my Ace, and my son is learning more on his PrizmIII, but sometimes gets discouraged with all the tabs he's been digging. Even took the grandson out today and he found his first 2 pennies with the Prizm! All in all, we are a sunburned, tired bunch and ready to play some XBox 360...... Cheesy
Hope everyone had a good week, and a great weekend! Detecting

Neat that you have 3 generations all out detecting together! Bet the toy gun was exciting to dig - it's cool. Congrats on the rings. Those dimes in the bottom picture sure stained red. Good start to the season. Sue

Nice bunch of finds, really neat that its a family effort. Looks like that Minnesota soil is pretty rough on buried objects.  Smiley

Hi Capnrich,
Congrats on Your finds  Clapp Clapp Clapp, the luger that you found a verity
of toy companies made them in the early 50s and some earlier. I have seen some of these go for around twenty-five dollars and up depending on condition at antique toy & gun shows just beacuse of what it is. it shouldnt be to hard to find out what company made it.
Best Wishes,,,Rob

Thanks for the replies! The soil here does seem to be murder on the newer clad stuff. The quarters and dimes clean up pretty good, but the pennies from the 90's on up almost seem to deteriorate, barnacles and all! The dimes I dug at the park/beach are the same color red as the pennies. I figure it is a high iron content area, but what do I know!? Ha! Grin The gun seems to be my best/interesting find so far...but I've only just begun! I have the bug SO bad, we were talking about Thunting today in the rain!
Thanks again everyone for the feedback and have a great week! Smiley
