Had a tough work week of business being on the road, no time to detect and I was in some old areas. Also got some bad news at work, half of our staff was just laid off, I made the cut and will be moving close to the French border to continue employment. On the up side, the region I will be working in offers great detecting that dates back to the Bronze Age. I got out today on my home fields for about 3 hours 34F/2C brrr. Thought it would be a Ho Hum hunt but, the targets just kept coming and I found several interesting relics! I was concentrating on those deep faint signals and this is what came up. A pewter bell about 2.5? tall, it is broken and junk but still interesting.
I?m not sure what the top piece is, found it in two pieces. A canvas button, a Maxwell instant coffee tin before it was good to the last drop, circa 1950s General Foods. A piece of metal with Fleur De Lis within a Fleur De Lis and a bar that held 5 American bullets.
A few more relics. I found several harmonica reeds.
Two horse bridal collets as I think they are called.
A religious medallion, a lead seal with a B on it and what looks like a cane tip.
Five buttons, one military with a 3 and crossed cannons and one gold plated with the Bavarian lion holding a sword, a crown above the lion?s head.
Reverse of the gold button shows a crown and a legend of ?Fuer koenig und vaterland? or ?for king and fatherland?. This is the best gold plated button I have found.
Three coins, a 1924 bronze 2 Pfennig, 1923 aluminum 200 Mark and an 1807 silver 6 Kreuzer.

A small brooch that looks like a 5 leaf clover, the leaves are glass and fell out when I rinsed it off. Looks like it had stones all around the perimeter. It still retains a small amount of gold plating.
The Bavarian lion made of lead or a mix of lead and zinc. He is a little bent but I thought it was an awesome find. He is leaning on a musket ball, the Dime for size. I have found many buttons and coins with this style of lion on them. HH and Happy Holidays, Mike
