Hi CCS,

So you're not getting rich, but boy aren't you having fun. Congrats and thanks for sharing. That target #18 looks a whole like part of a toy that I played with when I was young. It was called a "cap bomb". That looks like the head from it which screwed onto the body that had the fins on it. One would put a circular cap between it and the body, screw it tight, then throw it in the air, and when it came down the little plunger fired the cap and made a loud bang. Had several of them. Loads of fun for a kid that got ribbed for playing cowboy and wearing cap guns.

Did you see the cap hammer? Got sold on Ebay for $203. Imagine that. Looks homemade.

Dusty Carl, Thanks for the info Smiley, that is totally what it is I think.  I recall seeing them when i was a kid but we had a different version than the all metal ones.  And I am having a blast detecting again Smiley

Hey Dusty, I use to play with them as a kid, I remember dropping them out the 3rd story window of our house thinking it would make a bigger bang, of coarse it never did, but it gave my folks peace and quiet after I had been running up and down 6 flights of stairs all day, I did sleep well, Great
