Knew a guy that owned a demo company and got the contract to demo the Winchester Arms factory in New Haven, CT. Any fire arms found had to be turned over n to the govt. Everything else was his. They drilled out a in the wall safe and inside was a pile of brass medallions used for inserting in gun stocks. All different kinds. Was a cool find! The president's office, all constructed of wood was removed one board at a time, donated, and reassembled at the Winchester museum in Montana.

I have seen the 1938 Daisy Red Ryder air rifle with a medallion glued to the stock.
I think that the bumps on the back is where the glue is. It won't come off.
I will take it as it is.
It's been a while since I find something like it
You never know what you will find in old buildings.
They found a safe in Pablo Escobar's house. I have yet to hear what was in it.
We probably won't know since they want to keep it a secret.

I think it is very nice the way it is. I would just be careful.

I'm with the Glue Idea.   I had one with the Midallian in bedded in the stock.

It would probably be a pile of rust by now.
The stock would have rotted away .
I wish I could find one at a garage sale.
