Go Up Go Down

Well, got away to demonstrate my new MD and my pinpointer for my Gf.

Went to an old small local beach, the MD beeped all the time, indicating pulltabs, iron and oder crap.
After i got indication of an object, my GF did the digging, resulting in happy faces, she now wants me to bring a spade or better digging tool then my trowler.

In the final hole the MD indicated silver and pulltabs, well out came some alu foil, part of old canring pulltab and a Quarter Krona (25 ?ring) dated in 1936, 60%silver.

Dayfind:
Fishing hooks, nails, old style pullfoil cap, and a big chunk of steel.
Loads of foil and other small metal object, everything went into the local metal recycling container. Tongue

Well done! Not on the finds - on having your girlfriend do the digging!

Tell us your secret, mate!

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.

GoldDigger1950-

Well my Girlfriend aint much for the MD part, she get excited hunting for treasures so i let her handle the pinpointer and the digging tool, i?m going to buy a military style folding spade and grind it down for a more narrow profile.

It?s a shame that most E-bayers that sell cheap things from the states often take 3x the price of shipping when some offer sheam shipping but have prices 3X the standard.

I?m currently looking for an E-tool Gerber/US Army/Fiskars.

Awesome coin! Lot's of trash too, I haven't done well at beaches yet, the trash people leave around is amazing. Angry

Nice job with the GF. I got my wife to come and dig once..that was it. She likes seeing what I bring home, but that's as far as it goes! Smiley

The fortune hunter is one of the versions of the better known BH Lonestar, which I happen to own.

I found countless coins and jewelry with it on the north sea beaches.

That coin is very nice.

If your GF likes MDing, well just buy her a...MD !!

Two hunters kill more coins and rings than only one.

happy hunting !

mike;

There are a number of reasons.... they all lead to blanket splitting, if not addressed. Take it from the voice of experience! A few suggestions:

1) a "control" or loss of control thing;
2) some do not like to be alone at night;
3) she has no interest, so you should not (cant argue with that one;)
4) you are out of sight, so she is out of your mind  (she thinks);
5) she does not know how to compete with a hobby she SEES as competition for your attention;

Probably a lot more reasons, all of which you do not think important, but may be VERY serious, to her. The night thing cost me a great security job when some cops went over the roof of my house, shooting at some fleeing bank robbers..... scared the heck out of my wife...... years later, I found out it was my brother-in-law (he was not at that time, but was in the Vancouver City police,) whom I ran into 3 times, in the course of my security job.  Shocked

It never pays to ignore the insecurities of you "better half." Not if you want her to stay around. You may have to find a way to make concessions, but then again, nothing may help.

Can you get her interested, in the "hobby?"

Ever find anything that takes her eye?
