Got about 1.5 hours of quality time in with the XT70 today on a snow covered field. The snow was really a good thing as it insulated the ground some and digging was easier, it was a balmy 33F/1C and some of the snow had melted off. Was digging most targets trying to figure out what the detector is saying, a lot of iron and a trashy area of foil pieces. I learned a lot about the detector but still fumbling with the settings, I have a little more control over the settings than I care for. Made a few interesting finds but that trashy area slowed me down. Here?s the field I detected today, a foggy and gloomy day it was but, no snow or rain.
A few relics, a beat up copper button, a lead seal with ?17.0 CITR? stamped on it and a piece of a harmonic reed.
Two buckles, the left buckle looks like a swivel type.
A 1937 copper 1 Pfennig coin and a dog tag from 1895.
An interesting brooch approximately 1?/25cm in diameter. The pin is missing on the reverse but the fastener is still there. Has 10 purple colored stones that started falling out as soon as I cleaned off the dirt. Thought it had been hit by the plow but after cleaning it up I found it was made this way, just a little bent out of shape. All but the two stones at the opening fell out. HH, Mike
