Today I hunted in a river with my Excalibur, I recovered 29 silver coins. 21 were dimes, 1 war nickel, 7 quarters, 3 regular Jefferson nickels, 3 Buffalo nickels and 9 wheat pennies. All of these coins came out of salt water and are wafer thin with the exception of the nickels. The site used to have a pier and a one arm bandit slot machine.

I did have one exciting moment when I stepped in an old tire or something and couldn't move my feet. The depth of the water was about 4 feet, i went over forward like a seal Grin down into the water and plowed under water for about 5 ft before I came up and got my balance Tongue It was hilarious, I looked around to see if anyone was looking Grin

The photo is not that great nor are the coins......they'll be heading into the tumbler for scrap silver...............HH....................John in Virginia

Johnlaw, I'm totaly enveous! If I find one silver dime a week I'm lucky. I guess the key is where to hunt. I know of one place like that but it was hunted out years ago.

It's all about that moment when metal that hasn't seen the light of day for generations frees itself from the soil and presents itself to me.
