The Toltec 100 was mentioned in the New Tesoro Topic which lead me to wonder if many people are still using this model. I would be interested to hear views, experiences and recommendations regarding the Toltec 100 from past and current users.

Hello, the Toltec 100 was my first detector. I would say it performs basically like a Tesoro Cortes / DeLeon but with a bit less depth and of course the newer models have a better target it through the VDI numbers. The battery assembly in the Toltec is a bit crude like in the Lobo. I would no longer recommend the Toltec 100 these days. Its successor the Toltec II was about the same but with an improved housing (the one that is still used on the Lobo). I believe most Tesoros are built around the Silver Sabre circuit.

Regards,

Christian

I would highly recommend the Toltec 100. It does not have the depth of the Vaquero or Tejon, but is a very good ttarget ID machine. It has good audio, and The meter is accurate. The best nickel finder I ever had. I still have a toltec 100, and use it occasionally. It is much heavier than most.

It may be an older post, but I know a veteran metal detector user who just jumped at the chance to get his hands on a Toltec to replace one he loaned to a relative.  Despite having newer detectors, his all time favorite is the Toltec.

Yep, they were a more then Fine Detector for sure.  Replaced by the Cebola.  Another more then fine detector.    Them cheap little rascals can find a Nickel at 15"  ...   It all has to do with the Freaq they run.  If the Cebola had Ground Bal I would buy one in a heart beat for  minor gold machine.
