Hey fam, I'm buying a Tesoro detector... so I want your opinions. This will be sort of a general purpose machine so I was leaning towards a Vaquero. Either way, I want to keep it as simple as possible which is why I'm going with Tesoro.

Cheers and thanks in advance.

I'm thinking I want to go with the higher kHz. I don't really know for sure. The Lobo ST seems like it would murder it on coins and relics as well as gold.

I still have a Lobo Build on the back burner here .  One of my dozens of Some Day things.  Need a couple of the older Coils for two TGSL builds in the works here.  One is for a Fellow Member on the forum.  If I do as planned the TGSL will be running just above the LOBO Freq.

Lol, I was just looking at building some detectors. I have two of the Surf PI boards from Silverdog still. Do you know if he is still in business? I would like to save some time and just buy the parts kits from him.

I own a tesoro silver umax that is a Great machine For coins and jewerly in trashy areas... I'm planning to build the lobo two, pcb ordered from a seller on ebay

Never used other factory build models but i think they are Great machines For those like me who dont want VDI machines and menus. They discrimination over iron is superbe.

If I build the one you are, can I just use factory made coils? I wanna take baby steps and building a coil is just one more thing to add to the confusion.

Yes the TGSL uses the factor Coils or there is a great document on building one.  5 pin type.

As honefire states in the previous post, i confirm the use of 5 pin tesoro coil For my IGSL TGSL. For the TGSL i use the coil of my silver umax 8" and 5"75, but i think lobo uses another type of coil.
