Go Up Go Down

Took my boy and the omega down to the swimming hole this morning for a bit, we dug some trash
{alt}

found a tackle spill, cant imagine how bad that would feel barefoot
{alt}

and a few coins to boot
{alt}

probably would have found some more but my boy slipped and went into the creek and wanted to go home for some dry clothes

Thanks Chris, we had a good time at least till he fell in the creek. I spent some time with the d2 tones and it seems to give a snappier reply when passing over multiple objects close together. The dolphin like tones will take a bit of getting used to though.

They were spread across a couple feet mixed into the grass and sand, I would bet they are less than a month old. Swimming season around here is pretty much just July and August, otherwise the water is just too cold. I didnt take my magnet with me or I could have just swept them up, instead I used the pinpointer to locate them in the sand. I will probably run the magnet over that spot again to pick up any stragglers I left behind.

Go Up Go Down

Went by the park in town for a quick hunt before work this morning, using d2 mode I pulled 6 zincs, 1 copper, 2 nickels, 1 ring tab, 2 pull tabs and a wad of foil. I am beginning to see what you guys meant by the tones telling you what it is. I was pretty sure the trash was trash before I dug it, but still trying for gold so I am digging any solid repeatable target. Just getting a lot quicker at it  Wink

Go Up Go Down

Nice Smiley   I tried going out for a quick dig in the back yard Saturday after my first hockey game in 16 months.   Needless to say, after I got the first signal and started to dig, my body was like...dude....don't get down to dig that hole, cause you will not be getting up for a while. Tongue  It was right Smiley

Hopefully today I can pull a few more roofing nails out Smiley

Getting old sucks  Angry
Chris you should try hitting the tot lot, at least dig in the chips if you dont feel comfortable digging plugs. I grew disillusioned quickly with the front yard after digging roofing nail after roofing nail. Coins are a lot more fun, even if they are pennies. And at least at our park most reside in the top couple inches, I only dug two plugs today one for a ring tab and one for the copper penny all the rest I popped with a screwdriver.

I hit the kids parks when I can, but I only had an hour of sunlight left and my energy was draining fast Smiley   The sand at the one park I was at was 8-12 inches deep then it became a hard clay.   I have no issue digging plugs, except my accuracy is out Smiley

Very fun productive hunt there.  Clapp   Tones are what it's all about.  Half the fun is identifying the target before you dig it.
I still have trouble picking up weak deep targets and seperating the signals from junk.  I guess thats why the places always seem to have more targets, junk is eternaly dropping and the deep ones are hard to find.

Just gotta keep practicing.
