I don't want anything for free nor is that what i said. The point is the warranty should be for the machine for a time period (say 3years)why should it matter who bought it !
And the way your speaking its like nobody can have a diffrent opinion to u and poorer people need not apply
Is it a bad day or are you just grumpy

Excuse me but who keeps coming back here to establish THEIR own opinion? You do. The warranty is for the purchaser not the machine. No company I know of places a warranty on the machine alone unless it is clearly stated in the warranty itself. Warranty documents can only be issued by the company who sells a product and are not normally transferable. In fact, if you ever TELL a company that you bought an item second hand it's highly likely that they will use it to disqualify your claim.

And whether you mean to do it or not, you do appear to want the warranty to go on for thousands of years at no extra cost to you or your distant relatives. If they don't have a terminus, precisely how long do you recommend a warranty be valid? I'm really am curious here since your opinion seems to be that a warranty would have no end.

And here you are being the pot calling the kettle black. You clearly want ME to stop.

I do care about your opinion. I care more about how you perceive fairness. A warranty is something a MANUFACTURER offers. It is not a CUSTOMER negotiated item. You keep saying I allow no other opinion. Well, friend, I do allow it. I do have the ability to delete your opinion but, as much as you deny it, I allow it to remain and even respect it. What you are confusing with my "not allowing" your opinion, is my DISAGREEING with it. That never, ever means that I do not allow it.

Now go ahead and have the last word. Please. With my compliments.

I'm not sure why or how we got to disagreeing about this i just meant if i owned the company selling detectors i would over a warranty that covered parts if my machine broke for a set time (10 years)that way my machines would get a good second hand price so people would buy my goods that's just i thought it was never meant to be anything but my opinion

Could be worst.    Whites, Garrett and as far as I know Tesoro will work on there older machines.   Minelab  use conformant paint on the PCB to deter the user from working on them and after so many years dubs machine NONE REPAIRABLE.

So I guess when a Minelab goes bad they just replace the circuit board with a new one at the factory .  I can't remember if Minelab has a 2 year or 4 year warranty . Or if you buy from Kellyco in Florida they give you 2 more years of warranty free ??

Regards.......Eugene

Not sure what their deal is.   Commanding the prices they do , you would think they could do better.
