Detecting is a bit hit and miss in spain , apart from Andalusia where there complete ban on detecting , permissions can be sought from the local town hall and or police station and is dependant on the mood of the person asked !!!!!!!!!!!.... a number of people do take a chance and get away with it but risk a fine and automatic confiscation of there machine [s ].
It is however it is not all doom and gloom , in the Murcia district ,south of Torreviejva is a club which is affiliated to a local self help group , the orgaisation is known as ADAPT and is based in San Pedro del Pinatar , we meet every friday , we have official permission to search a number of local beaches and have access [ very shortly ] to a roman villa and the surrounding area , we also offer a free search facility locally to the local community [ lost keys , metal items etc ] , we are in contact with authorities in the Valencian region to extend our area legally ,and the signs seem very hopefull .
At the moment it is mainly beaches but we are expanding into cultivated land , but because the land is very hard to work and is rock hard ,we only do this after a rainy period ..!!!
