Jean Marie Alfred Sauni?reBorn in 1855 in
Montazels.
It was ordered priest in 1878 and was named Vicaire at
Alzonne. He was J?suite.
After 1879, it is teaching in establishments of the Society of Jesus.
In 1893, he is professor with the Small Seminar of
Narbonne during 4 years.
In 1897, it meets the
Marquise du Bourg de Bozas and becomes chaplain of the Patronage of Narbonne.
The same year, he becomes the tutor in the family of the
Marquis de Chefdebien (
see foot-note), high-ranking dignitary of Frank Masonry. He was driven out of this house and was struck ?suspense has divinis?. He withdraws himself in Montazels in 1903 and dies on September 9th, 1905.
One lends to him a connection with the Marquise of Bozas and it will finish its life with
Marie-Emilie Sali?re with whom it will have a child.
Alfred Sauni?re remained a long time in the shade of his B?renger brother. So much so that the few rare photographs that it remains us of him have, until in the years 1990, systematically presented as being those of? Berenger. This confusion, in a certain manner, returned justice to Alfred who is an central element of the work of his brother with Rennes-le-Ch?teau. It is indeed known, thanks to papers of Berenger, that Alfred brought large amounts of money to him. This very important financial contribution is the consequence of the very marked political commitment and alliances that Alfred had, to this end, bound with certain royalist first families of the area. One about it has almost any more no file, which makes of him a particularly enigmatic actor of the Business of Rennes-le-Ch?teau. One knows indeed, by some words of Berenger, who it was in the middle of rather serious events which inspired the opprobrium of the Bishopric. But anything of those are not known. On the end of its life, declared ?priest free? it had a relation with a fore-mentioned young woman Emilie Sali?re who gave him a child. He died whereas it was pregnant and thus did not know it alive?
Foot-note:Chefdebien The big family of Chefdebien originating in Poitou was particularly active within the Masonic cabins of 18th and 19th century.
She is also attached to Rennes-le-Ch?teau by the fact that Alfred Sauni?re, younger brother of Berenger and priest like, were to him in 1897 the tutor of the children of Chefdebien de Zagarriga (a branch junior by the viscontal family of Chefdebien d' Armissan allied in 1790 with the noble Catalan family of Cagarriga).
