You have an interesting idea... let me review the data sheets as this would be a cool project. I have been looking at the GPS receivers but had not had a use for one yet.

theman;

Spark Fun has a logger that might work... saves to SD card. The blurb says serial and analog data, and the price is not as bad as Saelig.... it is just over $100 Can.

This is the ONLY logger I could find, in a Google search, that fit my specifics!

What I have worked up, so far, without the logger is an ADC that produces an 8 bit word, and a strobe FF, so when the 8 bit word is read and the FF reset, the Tiny Trak  is keyed and sends a serial data group (up to 83 characters, if I remember right,) the Tiny Trak is kept from sending, during the analog part, by the process, then when the FF is set, it too holds off the Tiny Trak, some more. The IDEA was to get a read every 10 seconds, or every 1, 5, or 10 meters. This allowed a slower 300 Baud, for the TT4, and better tones with which to work as with an AF recorder, which was my first plan. HMMMM, progress???

That is as far as I got, in my design, as I needed a way to make pc boards, to finish. I had decided the ADC could do service for any survey equipment, that I might have-get-design. The ADC would get 2.5 analog volts, as a zero condition (127h) and could go up to 5v (255h,) or down to zero (0h.)

My plan, from this point, was to convert each data-save to a pixel value, to which I could assign a colour, rather than B&W gray levels. IE: 0 = dark blue to 255 light yellow, going through red. I figured to write a simple Basic program, to do this, or learn Excel. A lot of hand work, either way!  Shocked
